Nearly two decades in frontline community health, emergency response and counseling led Regina to one conclusion: people don't just need help, they need someone to believe in their purpose. Overcomers Foundation is that belief, built into an organization.
Regina's working life started in reception and administration, at Stelkor Medicross, Barloworld Toyota and ABBA Stellenbosch, where she learned the discipline of showing up for people every single day. But it was her move into health promotion and caregiving at Bergzicht Training Centre that set her direction.
That path took her onto the Desmond Tutu TB Centre's Community Advisory Board, where she spent six years organizing community meetings for a large-scale HIV clinical trial in Cloetesville, later joining the Youth Community Advisory Board. When COVID-19 hit, she moved onto a dedicated team following up with survivors and served as a shift supervisor at Namola Emergency Call Centre, training new recruits to help people reach ambulances, police and emergency response in their worst moments.
Alongside this, Regina pursued a Counseling Higher Certificate through Scriptura Academia, trained as a facilitator and completed a Community Leadership course, building the tools to turn frontline experience into structured, lasting impact.
Regina founded Overcomers Foundation to formalize what she had already been doing for years: walking alongside people through crisis, then equipping them to lead. The Foundation exists to make that work sustainable and scalable, reaching more people through education, mentorship, faith and compassion.
